"I don’t know what we’re planning to do, and if I did, I wouldn’t tell you," BART spokesperson Linton Johnson told Brian Copeland after the host of 7 Live asked him if BART would shut off cell phone service again on Monday evening.

BART has come under fire for pulling the plug on its underground cell phone network Thursday after learning of a planned demonstration on one of its platforms. Johnson responded to criticism by BART board members, customers and groups like the ACLU by repeatedly stating that the BART platforms “are not a free speech zone.”

A larger demonstration caused the shut down of four BART stations Monday evening. The demonstration, organized by the online hacking and activist group Anonymous, disbanded peacefully.
